Curriculum Vitae

January 1996 to March 1999

PhD. Imperial College, London University.
Thesis title: Competition and coexistence in experimental annual plant communities

October 1990 to July 1993

BSc. (Hons) Ecology. King's College, London University.

Postdoctoral position on FunDivEUROPE
My role is to develop and manage the database solutions for the Inventory and Exploratory Platforms.

October 1999 to February 2011

Software developer and programmer
I worked as a software developer and programmer, in London, building database-driven websites for commercial companies and charities.

July 1993 to December 1996

Ecologist for King's Environmental Services, King's College London.
We undertook Environmental Impact Assessments for major highway schemes, adult and juvenile fish stock surveys and river corridor habitat surveys.

Research interests

Plant community ecology, biodiversity, bioinformatics.

Functional Significance of Forest Biodiversity in Europe

The aim of FunDivEUROPE is to quantify the effects of forest biodiversity on ecosystem function and services in major European forest type.
